German K43
1 Attachment(s)
I had to share this unreal deal my brother stumbled upon.
He walked into a buddies house a few weeks ago and sees this old rifle laying on his kitchen table. He asks him about it. The buddy, who runs a small lawn service, says he was at a "rich" guys house, finished the job and knocked on the door to collect his payment. For whatever reason the rich guy instead offered him this rifle. He told him it was worth some money, but he couldn't find the magazine. So there it lay on his kitchen table. He was talking about taking it to the pawn shop to get some quick cash for it. He was very uninterested in it. My brother instead worked out a trade with him. He traded a Sony PSP for this rare rifle. It's probably worth $1500 to $3000. Still trying to figure that out. Traded for a used, worth $150 maybe, hand held internet game thing. Late model, Nazi proof marked, Walther factory K43. The serial numbers indicate a 1944 model we believe, and the inspection stamp indicates it was built at the Walther factory. There are no import marks anywhere on this rifle, nothing under the furniture. I guess that would mean it was taken home by a soldier? Anybody familiar with these? This is the first one I've seen in person. Here's a reference photo, my pics are too big to upload: Attachment 60820 |

Re: German K43
No import marks means it's almost certainly a bring-back (unless someone filed the import marks off.) That increases the value dramatically.
You may want to try going to http://www.milsurpshooter.net/ or AR15's Curio and Relics forum. |

My brother's always been like that. He stumbles into good deals, girls, and jobs all of the time. He's just lucky. I asked him to wander around some more and find me an original dragunov. I'm willing to trade a used VCR.:sarc::sarc::RockOn: |
Re: German K43
I'm a "lucky" guy as well....
"the harder I work....the luckier I get....." "Luck" is often a function exposure and grasping the opportunity.....and it helps to be prepared to grasp the opportunity....that is where the hard work comes into play.... |
Re: German K43
Wait a sec.........here's one for $3600.....but still beyond my price range.
